Garage - Medway

This client's old stone garage was a real challenge.  Although the client had no realistic expectations of ever getting a vehicle into the garage, his teenaged son certainly had visions of utilizing his drum set and weight bench within the small space.  With 5 bikes to store, and a wide range of home improvement supplies needing a home, the obvious choice was to line the walls with supplies and move the weight bench and drum set into the middle of the room.

A challenge to find anything!

Weight bench and drum set accessible.  Bikes handy but out of the way.  Handyman items boxed or shelved as necessary.  Lots of room to walk around and through.

This wall served no purpose except for leaning things against it!

The old kitchen cupboards have found a new life for storing small hardware items, and new tall shelving units hold other belongings that have been sorted and categorized in easily removable boxes.  The dehumidifier  has even been mounted in the front corner shelf, facilitating drainage out of the garage.

Another useless wall.

Easy bike storage.  Close to the garage exit, but leaving plenty of clearance for the automatic garage door lift.  Handy peg hooks for the little ones' helmets, right beside the bikes so they won't 'forget' to wear them :)

Mismatched shelves teetering on top of each other.  Tools jumbled together.

Neat tool bench.  Huge peg board.  Tidy shelving.  And the ability to listen to a drum session while working on the next project!
