Customized 5-Step Process to Organization

Step 3:

RELOCATE, REMOVE, AND PURGE

Your presence is required at this time.  Be prepared to answer the Garage-Guru's favorite question: "Does this really belong here, or would it be better somewhere else - in the house or elsewhere?"

The most important step to becoming organized is knowing what to get rid of and what to keep.  In other words,
IF YOU DON'T WANT / NEED / USE IT, GET RID OF IT!
If it's unfixable, recycle or trash it; if it's reusable, donate it.  (If you think there's a slight chance that you might use this item on a cloudy 3rd Friday in February in the year 2048, you don't need it!)  CUT your CLUTTER!

Small trash items will be bagged; recyclable items will be removed; clean reusable items will be earmarked for particular organizations (for example, books and videos to the local library; clothing and shoes to donation boxes; toys to Big Brothers/Big Sisters; games to upcoming yard sales).  In towns such as Medway, residents are allowed to put one large item out with the trash each week; metal items will be picked up, curbside, upon making a simple phone call.
